Resumo

Objetivo: Elaborar uma revisão sobre a influencia de alguns componentes relacionados ao estilo de vida em pacientes com doenças reumáticas. Métodos: Foi realizada busca por artigos publicados nos últimos 12 anos na base PubMed, entre os meses de dezembro de 2011 e fevereiro de 2012. Resultados: Foram encontrados 127 artigos, sendo 76 excluídos por não preencherem os critérios de inclusão. A pratica de atividade física regular e benéfica para os pacientes reumáticos por melhorar a função muscular e aumentar o condicionamento aeróbio. Uma dieta rica em frutas e vegetais e pobre em gorduras saturadas pode reduzir a inflamação encontrada em indivíduos com essas patologias. O tabagismo esta associado com algumas doenças reumáticas. O risco de desenvolver a doença aumenta com a quantidade e a duração da exposição ao cigarro. Ainda são necessárias mais pesquisas para que seja possível emitir conclusões a respeito de outros fatores relacionados ao estilo de vida e sua relação com as doenças reumáticas. Conclusão: O conhecimento sobre estilo de vida e sua relação com as doenças reumáticas ainda e escasso, mas ha evidencias confirmando que a manutenção de um estilo de vida saudável pode atuar como fator de prevenção e dar suporte ao tratamento destas doenças.
