Abstract
Objective: The objective of this study is to thoroughly assess the risk of cardiovascular disease in individuals with varying degrees of obesity (grades I, II, and III), focusing on the relationship between obesity and heart rate recovery (HRR) after physical exertion. By evaluating the physiological responses of obese individuals, the study seeks to identify potential early markers of cardiovascular risk and highlight the importance of preventive measures in this population.
Originality/Value: The study provides an in-depth analysis of how obesity affects cardiovascular health by examining heart rate recovery (HRR) post-exercise. It highlights the significance of HRR as a potential indicator of future cardiovascular disease, especially in individuals with higher obesity levels.
Methodology: The research involved 55 participants, divided into four groups based on obesity levels (I, II, III, and control group). Anthropometric measurements, such as body weight, height, and abdominal perimeter, were recorded. The heart rate was measured at rest, immediately after the step test, and during a 5-minute recovery period.
Results: The results show that individuals with higher obesity levels exhibited worse heart rate recovery. Participants in the grade II and III obesity groups had a higher cardiovascular risk compared to the control group. The correlation between body mass index (BMI) and heart rate recovery was strong, indicating that the greater the degree of obesity, the more impaired the HRR.
Conclusion: Heart rate recovery (HRR) is attenuated in obese individuals...
